WWE Money in the Bank 2020 Review

Money in the Bank 2020 took place last Sunday at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The current circumstances involving the pandemic have been meant that the show took place in an empty arena; with the Money in the Bank ladder matches taking place at the same time at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Let's take a look to see how it goes.

The match on the Kick Off Show is Jeff Hardy taking on Cesaro. Cesaro catches Hardy doing a crossbody off the steel steps and throws him into the crowd barrier to get the advantage. Cesaro attempts a gutwrench suplex from the top rope but Hardy stops it and hits Whisper in the Wind to start a comeback. In the end, Hardy hits the Swanton Bomb to get the win. The match between the two was pretty decent.
Winner: Jeff Hardy (1 for 1)

The first match of the event was for Smackdown Tag Team Championship as The Lucha House Party, Hollywood Miz and John Morrison and The Forgotten Sons challenge The New Day. Highlights of the match include: Gran Metalik and Morrison diving onto everyone else on the outside; The New Day hitting Steve Cutler with a powerbomb/double stomp combo; and Morrison hitting a Starship Pain on Big E. In the end, Big E hit Gran Metalik with the Big Ending to get the win. The match was fun for the most part.
Winners: The New Day (2 for 2)

The next match is R-Truth, who looked like a moron doing his "What's Up?" in front of no one, taking on MVP. R-Truth and MVP get into an argument and Bobby Lashley comes out and offers to take MVP's place. Lashley proceeds to completely destroy R-Truth and, despite a brief fightback by R-Truth, Lashley hits a spear and gets the win. This match was a squash that I think we should not have on a Pay-Per-View.

The next match is for the Smackdown Women's Champion as Tamina challenges Bayley. Bayley slams Tamina's knee into the ring post to get the advantage. After a few minutes, Tamina starts a comeback after getting water thrown in her face and comes close to getting the win when Sasha Banks distracts her. This gives Bayley the chance to recover and reverse a Samoa Drop into a crucifix pin to get the win. I thought the match was ok.
Winner: Bayley (3 for 3)

We now get "Firefly Fun House" Bray Wyatt challenging Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship. Strowman is dominant at the beginning before he goes to shoulder charge Wyatt on the outside. However, Wyatt avoids it and Strowman crashes into the announce table. Wyatt, with encouragement from one of his puppets, follows up with a DDT to get the advantage. Wyatt goes on to hit Sister Abigail but Strowman just kicks out. Strowman turns it round when he reverses another Sister Abigail into a choke slam. Strowman then appears wearing the black sheep mask that he wore when he was with The Wyatt Family. This is enough somehow to convince Wyatt that he turned him onto his side and Strowman hits a Running Powerslam to get the win. The match was pretty good but I didn't like the way it ended as it made Wyatt looked like an idiot.
Winner: Braun Strowman (4 for 4)

Next is "The Monday Night Messiah" Seth Rollins challenging Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. Rollins hits a couple of dropkicks on McIntyre's left knee followed by a suicide dive to get the advantage. Rollins keeps McIntyre on the outside but when he goes for another suicide dive, he gets caught and gets sent flying over the announce table with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. McIntyre starts his comeback but Rollins comes close after hitting a superplex into a falcon arrow. Rollins hits a super kick but McIntyre retaliates with a Claymore Kick to get the win. I thought this was a really good match.
Winners: Drew McIntyre (5 for 5)

We now get to the main event, which are the Money in the Bank ladder matches. Taking part in the ladies' match were Asuka, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler; and it was AJ Styles,  Aliester Black, Daniel Bryan, King Corbin, Otis and Rey Mysterio taking in the mens'. The ladies started by the lifts and the men started in the gym. Highlights of the matches were:

• Cameos by Brother Love, not Doink the Clown, Stephanie McMahon and John Laurinatis 
• Otis, Bryan, Black and Corbin fighting in a lift. 
• Brooke winning idiot of the year by thinking the briefcase in a meeting room was the real one, despite it being told numerous times beforehand that it was on the roof. 
• Styles getting PTSD by seeing a picture of the Undertaker. 
• A food fight at Paul Heyman's buffet with Rey Mysterio getting squashed by Otis and Jax. 
• Styles accidentally fighting in Mr McMahon's office. and getting told off by McMahon.

Asuka, Evans and Jax are the first ones to enter the ring and, after dealing with Corbin trying to stop her for some reason, Asuka grabs the briefcase to get the win. A few minutes later, the rest of the men arrive and Corbin throws Mysterio and Black over the roof, apprently killing them? Anyway, in the end, Corbin and Styles fight over the briefcase. Elias comes in from nowhere and hits Corbin with a guitar, Styles fumbles the briefcase and it falls onto Otis' lap and he wins...? Er...what?

The matches were ok but I'm not happy that all the men got to the ring but only half the women. I know that Brooke and Carmella got taken out but Baszler basically disappeared. I was slightly surprised that Asuka won. However, the next night, "The Man" Becky Lynch announced that she was pregnant and that the match was actually for her RAW Women's Championship. With that, Asuka winning actually made more sense and it looks like it might lead to a face turn and maybe a feud with Baszler or maybe Kairi Sane.

As for men's, I'm sorry but what the fuck? Nothing against Otis but he's a comedy character so him having the briefcase doesn't make sense. I don't think that, barring a massive stroke of luck, he will successfully cash it in but a little of me does wonder what they will do with it.

Winners: Asuka (5 for 6) and Otis (5 for 7)

I thought that Money in the Bank was a decent event. There were a couple o good matches but a couple had really crappy endings. The lack of a crowd does hurt it tho and hopefully, it won't be too long before it's safe enough for them to come back.

WWE Money in the Bank 2020 Preview

WWE Money in the Bank will be taking place this evening at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. However, the Money in the Bank ladder matches will be taking place at the WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut at the same time. This will be interesting to watch so let's take a look.

WWE Money in the Bank 2019 Review

The match on the Kick Off Show was the Smackdown Tag Team Champions "The New" Daniel Bryan and Rowan and The Usos.  Early on, Rowan hits Jey Uso with a running crossbody to give his team the advantage. Bryan goes for his running dropkicks but Jey reverses the third one into a Samoan Drop and this gives him the chance to get the hot tag to Jimmy Uso. However, when Jey goes for the Uso Splash, Bryan catches him and applies the LeBell Lock, which is broken up by Jimmy. After The Usos take out Rowan on the outside, they then superkick Bryan then hit him with the Double Uce to get the win. This was a fun match to watch.
Winners: The Usos (0 for 1)

The first match on the show is the Women's Money in the Bank Match between Bayley, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Ember Moon, Mandy Rose, Naomi, Natalya and Nikki Cross. Highlights of the match include: Naomi using the splits to avoid a ladder sandwich; Nikki hitting Ember with a spinning neckbreaker; Ember hitting The Eclipse on Natalya from a ladder on the outside; Carmella coming back after after injuring her knee to fuck up Mandy; and Sonya Deville stopping Carmella from grabbing the briefcase. In the end, Sonya has to literally carry Mandy to the briefcase but Bayley climbs up, pushes them off the ladder then collects the briefcase to get the win. I quite enjoyed the match although I didn't think it was as good as last year's.
Winner: Bayley (0 for 2)

Next is the United States Championship match as Rey Mysterio challenges Samoa Joe. Joe kicks Mysterio down but he recovers and gets out of a powerbomb to pin Joe and get the win. Wait, what? That match lasted less than 2 minutes and the referee missed Joe's shoulder being up for the pin. Obviously, Joe doesn't take the loss well and beats up Mysterio. The match was ok but it was ruined by the referee.
Winner: Rey Mysterio (0 for 3)

We now get a steel cage match between Hollywood Miz and "The Best in the World(?)" Shane McMahon. When the bell rings, Shane tries to escape but Miz stops him. Shane slams Miz into the cage to get the advantage. Shane manages to get a steel chair but Miz grabs it and hits a Skull Crushing Finale onto the chair. Miz pins Shane but Shane puts his foot on the rope, which shouldn't be a rope break but the referee stops the count. The fuck?! In the end, Shane starts to climb out and Miz grabs him by his baseball jersey. However, Shane manages to slip out of his jersey to get the win by escaping the cage. The match was ok but this was the second match ruined by bad officiating. Normally, you don't have rope breaks in a steel cage match. However, you can't say there's no rope break for a submission yet say there is one when there's a pin. Plus there's the fact that Shane has beaten a former WWE Champion twice and has now gone to feud with Roman Reigns as well. What the fuck is happening?!
Winner: Shane McMahon (0 for 4)

We now get our second Championship match as Ariya Daivari challenges Tony Nese for the Cruiserweight Championship. After a fast paced start, Daivari grinds Nese's eyes against the top rope to get the advantage. Nese's vision starts to recover and Nese makes a comeback. Daivari goes to hit the Hammerlock Clothesline but Nese kicks out and goes on to hit the Running Nese to retain the Championship. This was a good match between the two and quite enjoyable.
Winner: Tony Nese (1 for 5)

It is the start of a busy night for "The Man" Becky Lynch as she faces the challenge of Lacey Evans for the RAW Women's Championship. Early on, Lacey tries to flee but Becky stops her. Lacey starts to focus on Becky's left arm to get the advantage. Lacey does a dick by wiping off her sweat and stuffing it into Becky's mouth and this is the incentive for Becky to make a comeback. In the end, Lacey rolls up Becky but the referee doesn't count for some reason. Becky then reverses it into the Dis-Arm-Her and Lacey immediately submits, giving Becky the win. Is that Bad Referee Day or something?! This is the third match ruined by bad officiating. I would have some sympathy if this was a real sport but it isn't. Anyway, well done to Becky
Winner: Becky Lynch (2 for 6)

Oh, wait a minute. Charlotte Flair comes out and, because she's not an idiot, demands her match takes place right now. So, it's Charlotte Flair challenging "The Man" Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women's Championship. Charlotte gets the early advantage and hits multiple Flair Chops and puts Becky in a Boston Crab. After exchanging punches, Charlotte goes for natural selection on the apron but fails and lands on the floor. While the referee does the 10 count, Lacey Evans runs back down and hits Becky with The Women's Right. Charlotte slides in and almost loses to an inside cradle. However, she kicks out and hits a big boot to get the win. Except for the referee almost doing a 3 count on the inside cradle, which wasn't his fault, it was a good match.
Winner: Charlotte Flair (3 for 7)

We still haven't finished yet as Becky attacks Lacey after the match. Charlotte helps out Lacey and they beat up Becky. Bayley comes on to make the save, which ends up with Charlotte missing a spear on Bayley and crashing into the ring post. Bayley is suddenly inspired by Edge's manual "How to be the Ultimate Opportunist" and cashes in her Money in the Bank briefcase. Bayley then hits a Macho Man elbow drop to get the win and become the new Smackdown Women's Champion. I know that Corey Graves bitched about Charlotte not being on her feet when the bell rang. However, there have been times when that's happened in a cash in so I'm not really bothered by that. I'm gutted that Becky lost a Championship however, it leads to a new Champion and diverts Charlotte away to someone else.
Winner: Bayley (N/A)

Next is Roman Reigns taking on Elias. Elias decides to get a head start by attacking Reigns backstage. He then goes on to have a concert in the ring. Afterwards, Reigns attacks him at the entrance ramp. Reigns goes on to throw Elias in the ring and spears after the bell rings to get the win. The match was...well, it wasn't a match was it?
Winner: Roman Reigns (4 for 8)

We now get the Universal Championship as AJ Styles challenging Seth Rollins.  The match goes back and forth in the beginning before Styles hits a knee to Rollins on the outside to get the advantage. It doesn't last long as Rollins makes a comeback with two suicide dives. Rollins comes close after hitting a buckle bomb and a frog splash and later on, Styles hits an impressive torture rack into a powerbomb. Bith guys have some very close near falls including Styles managing to avoid a curb stomp to hit the Styles Clash. In the end, Styles goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Rollins reverses it into a revolution knee. He follows that with 2 super kicks and the Curb Stomp to get the win. This was a great match between the two and I hope they wrestle again in the near future.
Winner: Seth Rollins (5 for 9)

We were supposed to get the Lucha House Party against 3 randoms but Lars Sullivan turns up and fucks them up. Well, ok that happened.

Anyway, the penultimate match is for the WWE Championship as Kevin Owens challenges Kofi Kingston.  The match starts with them punching each other and Owens hits a superkick to get the advantage. The match goes back and forth and Owens goes for the Stunner but Kofi hits SOS for 2. Owens hits a Pop Up Powerbomb and later on, a Stunner but both times, Kofi kicks out. Owens goes for a Swanton Bomb but Kofi gets the knees up and then hits Trouble in Paradise to get the win. This was a good match.
Winner: Braun Strowman (6 for 10)

The main event is the Men's Money in the Bank with Ali, Andrade, Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, Randy Orton and Ricochet. Highlights of the match include: Orton slamming Ali, Balor and Ricochet onto the English announce table; Andrade hitting Balor with a sunset flip powerbomb onto a ladder; Ali hitting Andrade with a Spanish fly off a ladder; Corbin catching Ricochet doing a suicide dive to hit a Deep Six; and McIntyre slamming Andrade onto Balor. Ali looks like he is going to grab the briefcase but suddenly, Brock Lesnar's music hits. Lesnar tips Ali off the ladder, climbs up to grab the briefcase and wins...? Wait...what?! What the fuck just happened?! The match was pretty good but the ending was fucking stupid. Lesnar doesn't fucking need this. I find it insane that WWE have gone from having a part timer be Universal Champion turning up about ten times a year to having the same part timer be Mr Money in the Bank. It doesn't make any sense and it was a shitty end to the Pay Per View.

Well, I thought that Money in the Bank was a mixed bag. There was some good matches, the Universal Championship match being a particular highlight. However, some matches were ruined by incompetent officiating, which doesn't make sense as this is all supposed to be planned. Then, it goes on to have the worst ending to a Pay Per View possibly ever by having Brock Lesnar turn up for do 30 seconds work and win Money in the Bank. I find it unbelievable that WWE decided to repeat what they've done with Lesnar for the last few years. The briefcase should have used to help bring up someone. Instead, they decided to go back to a part timer for ratings? I don't know Anyway, we now go to Saudi Arabia for WWE Blood Money III Super Show Down. Yay...

WWE Money in the Bank 2019 Preview

The first Pay-Per-View since Wrestlemania, Money in the Bank, will be taking place in the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. WWE has been going a rough spot with their ratings at the minute so hopefully, this event will help them get better ratings. So, let's take a look at the card.

The Usos vs "The New" Daniel Bryan and Rowan
The match on the Kick Off Show should be a good one although it's weird that Bryan, who was WWE Champion at Wrestlemania, is now on the Kick Off Show. Anyway, I'm going for him and Rowan to win.
Predicted Winners: "The New" Daniel Bryan and Rowan

Tony Nese vs Ariya Daivari
Cruiserwieght Championship
This should be a good one and I'm going for Nese to win.

Samoa Joe vs Rey Mysterio
United States Championship
Hopefully Rey has fully recovered from his injury so we will get a longer match than the one at Wrestlemania. A tough one but I'm going for Joe to retain.

I thought The Miz moving to RAW would end this feud but I guess I was wrong. Anyway, I'm going for Miz to win.

Becky will be defending both her Championships in two separate matches. It depends on which match goes on first. If it's this one, I think that Becky will win and Lacey will beat her up afterwards leading to the next match.

The feud continues although I thought it would be over by now. I'm going for Charlotte to win if it's the second match.

This is an interesting one. I can see a few of them winning but putting Nikki in for an injured Alexa could lead the way to a feud between the two. I might be in the minority but I'm going for Mandy to win.

WWE Money in the Bank 2018 Review

Money in the Bank 2018 took place on Sunday 17th June 2018 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. Lat year's event wasn't great so will this year's be any better? Let's take a look.

The match on the Kick Off Show is for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson challenge The Bludgeon Borthers. Harper and Rowan bounce Anderson off the ring apron to get the advantage. Despite Gallows getting the hot tag and coming close to hitting the Magic Killer, it gets stopped and The Bludgeon Brothers hit The Bludgeoning on Gallows to get the win. The match was ok.
Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers (1 for 1)

The first match on the show is Daniel Bryan taking on Big Cass. Bryan tries to keep Cass down by attacking the legs. However, Cass sends Bryan into the barricade to get the advantage and slow down the pace. Bryan gets back into the match and after some back and forth, Bryan manages to get Cass to submit to a heel hook and get the win. This match was a lot better than their match at Backlash and with Cass now gone, Bryan can go and do something else. 
Winner: Daniel Bryan (1 for 2)

Next is Sami Zayn taking on Bobby Lashley. Despite Zayn using his quickness to get the advantage, Lashley manages to hit Zayn with power moves such as a spine buster. Lashley then goes to get the win after 3 delayed vertical suplexes. This felt like a glorified squash match to me and Lashley seriously needs to change his finishing move.
Winner: Bobby Lashley (2 for 3)

The next match is Elias challenging Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship. Elias clotheslines Rollins, who lands badly on his neck, to get the advantage. After Rollins makes his comeback, Elias tries to hit the Drift Away but Rollins stops it and manages to roll up Elias to get the win. This match was pretty good and Elias has proved that he has the ability to be a Champion.
Winner: Seth Rollins (3 for 4)

We now get the Women's Money in the Bank Match between Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Ember Moon, Naomi, Lana, Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss.  Highlights of the match include: Ember hitting a crossbody, sending Sasha onto a ladder; Naomi hitting Sasha with a blockbuster to the floor; and Charlotte spearing Ember onto a ladder. In the end, Becky has her hand on the briefcase but Alexa tips her off the ladder then climbs up to grab the briefcase and get the win. This match was a lot of fun to watch although I was surprised that Alexa won.
Winner: Alexa Bliss (3 for 5)

Now a match that I'm struggling to give a fuck about: Roman Reigns taking on Jinder Mahal. Mahal struggles to deal with Reigns' offence. Luckily, a wheelchair bound Sunil Singh helps out by pushing Reigns into the ring post. Mahal then slows the match down with elbow drops and chinlocks. Reigns gets back into it and, after hitting Sunil with a Superman punch and a  spear, spears Mahal to get the win. The match was ok, nothing special.
Winner: Roman Reigns (4 for 6)

We get our first Women's Championship match as Asuka challenges Carmella for the Smackdown Women's Championship. Carmella manages to survive Asuka's offence and slam her into the ring post to get the advantage. After both competitors have the chance of getting the upper hand, someone comes to the apron wearing Asuka's entrance attire. This is enough to distract Asuka and when that person is revealed to be James Ellsworth (for fuck's sake), Carmella hits her shitty finishing move to get the win. I thought the match was pretty decent but the ending was shit. WWE have managed to turn possibly the most dominant women's wrestler in the company's history into a fucking idiot. Congratulations.
Winner: Carmella (4 for 7)

 Next is a Last Man Standing Match with Shinsuke Nakamura challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Championship. Highlights of the match include: Styles hitting a Phenomenal Forearm to the outside; Nakamura going for the low blow but missing; and Nakamura running across the announce tables to hit a Kinshasa. Styles comes close to winning after hitting a Styles Clash off the steel steps, getting a count of 9. Styles then gives Nakamura a low blow then hits a Phenomenal Forearm, sending Nakamura through the English announce table. This is enough to keep Nakamura down for 10 and Styles wins. This match was definitely the best one that they had. However, I felt that Nakamura should have won, otherwise his heel turn seems a little pointless.
Winner: AJ Styles (4 for 8)

The penultimate match is for the RAW Women's Championship with Ronda Rousey challenging Nia Jax. Jax immediately uses her strength to throw Rousey round like a rag doll. Rousey goes for the armbar but Jax gets out of it with a sit out powerbomb. Jax continues to be dominant but she misses a leg drop, giving Rousey the chance to make a comeback. Rousey is finally about to put on the armbar when Alexa Bliss comes in and attacks them with her newly acquired MITB briefcase. That means that Rousey wins by disqualification.
Winner: Ronda Rousey (5 for 9)

I don't have time to give my thoughts on the Rousey/Jax match as Bliss continues to beat the fuck out of them and then cash in her briefcase. Bliss hits a DDT then a beautiful Twisted Bliss to get the win and become the new RAW Women's Champion.

I thought that the Rousey/Jax match was pretty good and I like the story they told. I was surprised at the ending as I didn't expect Bliss to cash in so quickly. Despite that, I'm happy that Bliss is Champion. It looks like Rousey will be Champion in the near future and I feel that her going after Bliss will be a better story and I'm interested to see where it goes.
Winner: Alexa Bliss (N/A)

The main event is the Men's Money in the Bank between Kevin Owens, Bobby Roode, Hollywood Miz, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Rusev and a member of The New Day, which was Kofi Kingston. Highlights of the match include: Strowman being buried in ladders; Rusev hitting a fallaway slam sending Owens onto a ladder; Strowman tossing Owens off a ladder through a table; and Rusev putting Kingston and Roode in The Accolade. In the end, Strowman, Balor and Kingston fight it out on the ladder. Strowman throws Kingston off his back then beats down Balor. Strowman then grabs the briefcase to get the win.

I thought that the match was a lot of fun and I like the story of keeping Strowman down for as long as possible. Like Alexa Bliss, I was surprised that Strowman as I don't think he needs it. However, I can't wait for him to cash in on Brock Lesnar. You know, on one of the 10 days a year that Lesnar works.
Winner: Braun Strowman (5 for 10)

I thought, with a couple of exceptions, that Money in the Bank was a fun event. Extreme Rules is the next event and hopefully, it will be as fun as these one.

WWE Money in the Bank 2018 Preview

WWE Money in the Bank 2018 will be taking place this evening at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. After the terrible event that was Backlash, I'm worried about this event, especially as it's following TakeOver the night before. The Money in the Bank ladder matches looks good tho, so let's take a look at the card.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson 

Smackdown Tag Team Championship

The match on the Kick Off Show looks like it could be a decent one. I'm going for The Bludgeons to win.

Their match at Backlash wasn't great so hopefully this one will be better. I'm going for Cass to win.

I like Zayn but I don't really care about this match, especially as the reason for this feud makes no sense. Er..fuck, Lashley to win, I suppose.

This is a hard one to call. I would like to see them use this as the vehicle to break up The New Day. I like the team but I feel that they're ready to go on to bigger things. Anyway, this might be from left field but I'm going for Samoa Joe to win.

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Last Man Standing for the WWE Championship
I am worried about this match and I shouldn't as Styles and Nakamura are awesome. I think that Nakamura will win although, if they end this in a draw by dick punch, I will lose my shit like this:

Anyway, it will be a while before I review this. A combination of work, moving house and struggling to watch and then type some terrible wrestling has led to this at the moment. Hopefully, it will be better than the last event. Although, to be honest, that won't be too hard.

Worst. Cash In. Ever.

Last night, the main event of Smackdown Live was Jinder Mahal taking on John Cena. It looked like Cena was going to win when Corbin interferes and beats up Cena. He then decides to cash in his briefcase. Unfortunately, he is distracted by Cena and this allows Jinder to roll him up and get the win.

Without a doubt, this is the worst cash in I have ever seen and there are many things to look at. First of all, the timing. To do this in the last few minutes of your go-home show before the second biggest event of the year is a big surprise and if Corbin was successful, it would have made Summerslam very interesting. Would Cena vs Corbin now be a Championship match? What would Shinsuke Nakamura, the Number 1 Contender, have to say about it? Would it be now be a triple threat match or will Corbin face Nakamura instead? If Talking Smack was still going on, you could see all those questions being answered by Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan. 

Secondly, Jinder is probably the luckiest person on the planet because everyone else involved in this are fucking morons. Corbin is practically back at the Gorilla position before he decides to cash in. Then he has to wait for the referee to tell the ring announcer and the time keeper about what is happening and make sure Jinder is ok to compete. This gives Jinder a long time to recover. When the match starts, Corbin gets distracted by Cena, who is just standing on the apron not doing anything. Also, you have to think that Cena is an idiot in this as well. Even though he techncially didn't do anything, but he's laughing at Corbin afterwards. You do realise that you could be facing Corbin for the WWE Championship at Summerslam, right? You know, the chance to be a 17-time World Champion, breaking Ric Flair's record? I know that Cena is supposed to be the ultimate babyface but there are times where he does some really dumb things.

I'm not the biggest fan of Baron Corbin but I feel so sorry for him. He not only loses in less than 10 seconds but by a roll up. Jinder doesn't even hit his finishing move. If that isn't a big "fuck you" by WWE, I don't know what is. I know that some people think that this could make Corbin better but we thought that about Damien Sandow and look what happened to him.

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Review

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 took place at the Scottrade Center in St Louis on Sunday 18th June. We will see history in the making as the first ever Women's Money in the Bank ladder match. So, who will be Mr and Miss Money in the Bank? Let's take a look.

The Pre Show match was The Colons taking on The Hype Bros. The Hype Bros get the win after they hit The Hype Ryder on Epico. The match wasn't anything special.
Winners: The Hype Bros (1 for 1)

The first match of the event was Becky Lynch, Carmella, Charlotte Flair, Natalya and Tamina taking part in the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match. Highlights of the match include: Becky and Natalya fighting over a ladder before Natalya suplexed Becky onto it; Natalya putting Becky in the sharpshooter; Charlotte spearing Tamina out of the ring; and Becky powerbombing Carmella off the ladder. The end comes when Becky is on the verge of grabbing the briefcase when James Ellsworth tips the ladder to send her off. He then climbs the ladder, grabs the briefcase and drops it to Carmella for her to win the match.

First of all, I found the match to be a disappointment as I felt that it could have been better. As for the ending, things like this have almost happened. Maryse trying to help The Miz in 2010 is one that springs to mind. However, that didn't end the match and it put a very sour note on what should be a historic match. Instead of discussing whether Carmella is the right person to be the first Miss Money in the Bank, we're talking about the way she won it, which is a very bad creative decision by the WWE. Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan does reverse the decision and sets up a rematch on the following Smackdown, which Carmella does go on to win. However, the history making moment has been ruined.
Winner: Carmella (2 for 2)

Next is the Smackdown Tag Team Championship match as The New Day challenge The Usos. The Usos get the advantage when Jimmy pulls down the rope, sending Kofi to the floor. Eventually Kofi stomps on Jey and that gives him the chance to tag in Big E. They hit Jey with The Midnight Hour but Jimmy pulls him out and they go "Fuck this" and lose the match by count out. This was a good match although I was pissed off that it ended in a count out, especially after what happened in the previous match.
Winners: The New Day (3 for 3)

The second Championship is Lana (yes, really) challenging Naomi for the Smackdown Women's Championship. Naomi is dominant to begin with before Lana suplexes Naomi's legs onto the ropes. Lana does go on to hit a sit down spinebuster but after Naomi kicks out, Carmella comes down and teases cashing in the briefcase. This gives Naomi the chance to recover and gets Lana to submit to the Slay-O-Mission to get the win. This was an ok match and Lana showed some potential. However, this had a distraction finish, which you don't need to do. So far, we had a history making moment ruined, an intentional count out and a distraction finish. I don't think this PPV is going well.
Winner: Naomi (4 for 4)

After we see an episode of Fashion Vice and the return of Maria Kinellis with her husband Mike, we get the WWE Championship match with Randy Orton challenging Jinder Mahal. Orton goes for the RKO early on but Mahal rolls out of the ring. He manages to get the advantage after sending Orton over the top rope, landing badly on his left leg. Mahal continues his assault, hitting moves such as a shinbreaker onto the announce table and a figure four. However, Orton gets back into it after hitting a superplex. Orton goes on ot hit the RKO but the Singh Brothers puts Mahal's leg on the ropes and the referee sends them to the back. Instead they go after Bob Orton, who was sitting at ringside and Orton goes after them. This gives Mahal the chance to recover and hit the Khallas on Orton to get the win. I generally enjoyed the match but it had the same ending as the one at Backlash. It would have been nice to have a different ending.
Winner: Jinder Mahal (5 for 5)

The penultimate match is Breezango taking on The Ascension who have claimed responsibility for attacking Tyler Breeze the week before. Fandango gets saved from a tag team move by Breeze then puts Viktor in a small package to get the win. The match wasn't anything special.
Winners: Fandango (N/A)

The main event is AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura in the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match. Corbin attacks Nakamura during his entrance and he ends up being taken to the back by medics. Other highlights include: Zayn doing an over the top suicide dive to Owens; Corbin hitting Ziggler with a Deep Six onto the floor; Ziggler hitting Corbin with a Zig Zag off the ladder; Zayn hitting Owens with a half nelson suplex onto the apron; and Corbin chokeslamming Styles onto the ladder. After Nakamura comes back and beats up Corbin, we get him fighting Styles for a bit before they end up climbing the ladder. However, Corbin tips the ladder to send them flying and climbs up to get the briefcase and win the match.

This was a really good match and I'm quite surprised that Corbin won. It will be interesting to see how he will do if he becomes the Champion.
Winner: Baron Corbin (5 for 6)

I thought that Money in the Bank was a terrible event. The matches were generally good but the endings were fucking shit. We had a man effectively win the Women's Money in the Bank, an intentional count out, a distraction finish and a repeat ending. I pray that Smackdown get their shit together for their next event Battleground. 

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Preview

The 2017 edition of Money in the Bank will be taking place this evening at the Scottrade Center in St Louis. Even though it's a Smackdown only event, we will still be getting 2 Money in the Bank matches. So, who will be Mr and Miss Money in the Bank after this event? Let's look at the card.

Money in the Bank 2017: The Contenders

Money in the Bank will be taking place this Sunday and they will be two of them, including a women's one for the first time. So, who are the contenders? Let's take a look at them.

Women's Money in the Bank

Becky Lynch
Even though she was the first ever Smackdown Women's Champion, Becky has been down the pecking order recently. I would love to see her win but I can't see it.
Will She Win? Unlikely
Carmella
I'm not too sure with Carmella. Apparently, some dirtsheets are reporting that she will be the first ever winner. Due to the fact that Smackdown are giving people you wouldn't consider the chance to be a Champion, it is a distinct possibility.

Charlotte
A surefire bet in most people's eyes. However, her recent face turn (which I'm struggling to get behind) could count against her. WWE could use this as a chance to do another heel turn but time will tell.

Natalya
Whilst I would love Natalya to win, I feel that's not going to happen.

Tamina
Let's be blunt, she's not going to win. If she does, I will leave wrestling forever.

Men's Money in the Bank

AJ Styles
This is the most open match that I've seen in a long time. I feel that Styles is one of the favourites in this match.

Whilst Corbin has gone better recently, I think that it might be too soon for Corbin. However, like Carmella, some dirtsheets are reporting that he is the favourite to win so we will see.

WWE Money in the Bank 2016 Review

The first on the Kick Off Show was the team of The Golden Truth taking on Breezango. Due to the fact Goldust and R-Truth messing with a tanning bed, Fandango and Tyler Breeze have very sore and peeling skin. Remind me again, how are The Golden Truth faces? Anyway, Golden Truth use Breezango's injuries to their advantage, ending up with Goldust hitting the Final Cut on Fandango to get the win. This match was more of a comedy match but I didn't find it funny.
Winners: Breezango (0 for 1)

The second match on the Kick Off Show was The Lucha Dragons facing The Dudley Boyz. The Dragns get the win after Kalisto hits the Salida del Sol on Bubba Ray followed by a Dragon Bomb by Sin Cara 2.0. It was a decent match between the two. Not sure if I want a rematch tho.
Winners: The Lucha Dragons (0 for 2)

The first match of the show was a fatal 4 way match for the WEE Tag Team Championships with Enzo and Cass, The Vaudevillians and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson challenging The New Day. Enzo and Cass thought they won it after hitting the Booms in Kofi but Gallows stopped the count. Later on, The Vaudevillians hit the whirling dervlish on Kofi but Anderson breaks up the pin. In the end, Gallows and Anderson hit the magic killer on English but Big E stopped the pin. Big Cass sends Gallows out of the ring and Kofi and Big E hit a double team move on Anderson. Jodi then pins English to get the win. I really enjoyed the match. However, this was the wed tag team match in a row so I would have liked a bit more variety at the beginning.
Winners: The New Day (0 for 3)

Next was another match between Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler. Corbin gets the win after stopping Ziggler do a top rope move then hitting end of days. I found it hard hard to get into the match probably because it was at a slow pace and I didn't really care to begin with. Anyway, it was nice to see Corbin get the win.
Winner: Baron Corbin (0 for 4)

We now get another tag team match with Charlotte and Dana Brooke taking on Natalya and Becky Lynch. Charlotte gets out into the sharpshooter by Natalya but Brooke stops it. Becky grabs Brooke and she throws Becky into Natalya. Charlotte then hits natural selection on Natalya to get the win. Afterwards Natalya beats down Becky. I thought it was a good match but a bit short. As for Brooke,this was the first time that I saw her wrestle as she was injured when I started watching NXT regularly. She wasn't bad but I feel that she was called up too early.
Winners: Charlotte and Dana Brooke (1 for 5)

Next was Sheamus facing Apollo Crews. Apollo gets the win after getting hit by a white noise from the second rope and kicking out at 2. Sheamus bitches to the referee and Apollo puts him in a crucifix pin to get the win. A decent match that was longer than than I thought it would be. As for Crews, I thought he did well in his first PPV match. I do feel that he doesn't have much of a character but I think that WWE are using his natural talent to get him over. I think that it's working but it can only go so far.
Winner: Apollo Crews (2 for 6)

Now a match that I'm really looking forward to: AJ Styles versus John Cena. Styles has the advantage for the early part of the match, using his speed and managing to counter whether Cena would throw at him. Cena has the chance to capitalise when he avoids a suicide dive and gets to apply the STF. Later on, Styles gets out of the AA to apply the calf crusher but Cena gets to the ropes. Both guys hit their finishing moves but the other kicks out. After a shitty ref bump, Cena hits the AA but there's no ref. Gallows and Anderson then pay a visit and hit Cena with the magic killer. They then put Styles over Cena and he wins. I really enjoyed the match and it would have been nice if Styles had won clean. However, that rarely happens with Cena and it makes sense to do it to bed in Styles' heel turn.

Winner: AJ Styles (3 for 7)

Next is probably the most open Money in the Bank ladder match ever with Alberto Del Rio, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn taking part. Highlights of the match include: Zayn hitting an over the top suicide dive; Cesaro doing numerous European uppercuts to Del Rio, Jericho and Ambrose before Owens hits him with a superkick followed by throwing him head first into a ladder; Del Rio pulling Owens off the ladder into a backstabber;  Ceasro doing a giant swing on Jericho then swinging him into a ladder; and Zayn hitting Owens with a Michinoku driver onto a ladder. In the end, a ladder bridge is created and Owens powerbombs Zayn onto it then climbs the ladder. Ambrose stops him and gets him off the ladder then grabs the briefcase to win the match. This was a really enjoyable match and even though I predicted Owens to win, I was happy with Ambrose winning. I thought he might be one of those guys who everyone but the WWE would love to see as Champion. At the minute, it looks like I was wrong.
Winner: Dean Ambrose (3 for 8)

Next is Titus O'Neil challenging Rusev for the United States Championship. As expected, despite a brief flurry by Titus, Rusev gets the win after applying the Accolade. Afterwards, Rusev, because he's a dick, then mocked Titus in front of his children at ringside. The match was ok but nothing special. 
Winner: Rusev (4 for 9)

The main event is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as Seth Rollins challenges Roman Reigns. In the early stages, Reigns displays some heelish behaviour, which is unusual considering he's technically the face. Reigns hits a beautiful crucifix into a sit down powerbomb but Rollins gets back into it after avoiding a Superman punch and sending Reigns into the turnbuckle. Rollins goes on to hit moves like a frogsplash, a turnbuckle powerbomb and an awesome move when did a superplex straight into a falcon arrow. In the end, Rollins almost wins it after countering a spear into a pedigree. He then hits another pedigree to get the win. I enjoyed this match and Reigns had another good match. I was surprised that Rollins won but I'm glad he did.
Winner: Seth Rollins (4 for 10)

 Rollins' celebrations turn out to be short lived as Dean Ambrose's music hit. Rollins expects him to come down the aisle but he comes in from behind and hits Rollins with the briefcase. Ambrose then cashes in, hits dirty deeds on Rollins and becomes the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship. I really enjoyed this cash in and it's nice to see Ambrose with the belt. Hopefully he will have a good run with it.
Winner: Dean Ambrose (N/A)

I thought that Money in the Bank was a bit of a mixed bag. There were some really good matches with some great moments, such as the cash in. However, there were some matches that did nothing for me and hopefully we will see less of them in the next event.

WWE Money in the Bank 2015 Review

WWE Money in the Bank 2015 took place on Sunday June 14^th at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. This is one of my favourite events of the year and we get to see a potential WWE World Heavyweight Champion. So, who will it be? Let's take a look.

After a ten bell salute for Dusty Rhodes, who passed away that week; we get the Money in the Bank match. The competitors are Randy Orton, Neville, Corporate Kane, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus and Roman Reigns. Highlights of the match include: Sheamus hitting Ziggler with white noise; Reigns powerbombing Kofi onto a ladder then powerbombing Neville on top of him; and Orton pulling Neville off the ladder into a RKO. After Reigns does an over the top suicide dive to the wrestlers, Big E and Xavier Woods from The New Day (sucks!) run in and try to help Kofi win the match. Reigns takes out Big E and Woods then pulls Kofi off and powerbombs him onto everyone on the outside. Reigns then spears Orton and starts to climb up the ladder. Suddenly, Bray Wyatt appears, pulls Reigns off the ladder and hits him with the Sister Abigail. This gives Sheamus the chance to climb up the ladder and grab the briefcase to win the match.

I quite enjoyed this match and there were some good spots. I was convinced that, with the way the WWE have pushing him, Roman Reigns would win the match. I was surprised that Sheamus won instead. I'm not sure if Sheamus would become the World Heavyweight Champion or be the 3^rd ever person to cash in and fail; but it will be interesting to see what they do with him.

Next is the Divas Championship match with Paige challenging Nikki Bella. Paige does a rolling senton to Nikki on the outside but Nikki responds by bouncing Paige off the barrier. Nikki keeps on the pressure with a chinlock and a springboard suplex. Paige gets back into it and hits the RamPaige for 2. When they knock each other out of the ring, Brie Bella comes from under the ring to do their Twin Magic bullshit. Paige then reverses a small package attempt to win the match. Or so she thought. Brie then tells them that he isn't Nikki. The referee, instead of disqualifying the Bellas, continues the match and Nikki slides in and hits the Rack Attack and win the match. Up until the end, it was a good match. I'm a big fan of Paige and the Bellas are continuing to show improvement. However, the end ruined it. It was nice to see Twin Magic backfire for once but everyone is saying that Nikki should have been disqualified. Also, Twin Magic is getting ridiculous. Not only does Nikki have breast implants but their hair is now different. The referees are obviously thick as shit in the WWE.

Winner: Nikki Bella

The next match is for the Intercontinental Championship as Big Show challenges Ryback, with Hollywood Miz on guest commentary. Almost immediately, Ryback stopped a charging Show with a spear followed by a meat hook clothesline. Show cut off Ryback and hit some power offense and slaps to the chest. Ryback ducked the KO punch to go for the Shell Scock but Show hit him and knocked him out of the ring.  When Show rolled Ryback into the ring, Miz attacked Show with the mic, causing a disqualification. Miz then attacked Ryback. This match was at a fast pace, which was surprising. I don’t quite get Miz’s motivations to attack them but I assume he has his reasons.

Winner: Big Show

Predictions: 0 for 3

Next is John Cena taking on Kevin Owens (again). Highlights of the match include: Owens reversing an AA into a release German suplex; Owens kicking out of the AA twice; Cena kicking out of the pop-up powerbomb; and Cena applying the STF followed by a modified Styles Clash. In the end, Cena manages to hit the AA for a third time to get the win. Afterwards, Owens responds to Cena’s offer of a handshake by shaking his hand then kicking him in the gut then powerbombing him onto the ring apron. I really enjoyed this match and it really sold Owens well. I’m slightly worried that he will go back to NXT and won’t get called up again for a while. However, I don’t think that will happen.

Winner: John Cena

The penultimate match is for the Tag Team Championships as The Prime Time Players challenge Xavier Woods and Big E from The New Day. Woods and Big E beat down on Young before O'Neill gets tagged in. A couple of minutes later, O'Neill hits Woods with a turnaround spinebuster to get the win, making The Prime Time Players the new Tag Team Champions. This has a very short match and I didn't think it would end with a spinebuster. Anyway, congratulations to the Prime Time Players.
Winners: The Prime Time Players
Predictions: 1 for 5

The main event is a ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as Dean Ambrose challenges Seth Rollins. Highlights of the match include:  Ambrose hitting a butterfly overhead suplex into the ladder; Rollins applying a figure four around the ringpost; them brawling in the crowd; and Rollins powerbombing Ambrose into the barricade. The end comes when Rollins powerbombs Ambrose into a pile of chairs then buries him underneath them. Rollins climbs up the ladder but Ambrose gets out of the pile and goes after him. They both take the belt off the rung and fall off the ladder. Ambrose loses his grip on the belt as they hit the mat, making Rollins the winner. Afterwards, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley come out and celebrate with Rollins. This was a really good match and I really liked the ending.

I thought that Money in the Bank was a good PPV with some good matches. However, I was disappointed that the match that the event is named after was on first and I was surprised that Sheamus won. It looks like they see Sheamus as future Champion. However, I thought that when Sandow won in 2013 and looked what happened. 
 

WWE Money in the Bank 2015 Preview

 

WWE Money in the Bank takes place this evening at the Nationwide Arena in Colombus, Ohio. It's the time where we get to crown a WWE World Heavyweight Champion in waiting. So, who will it be? Let's look at the card.

Ryback will defend his Intercontinental Championship against The Big Show. I can't see this being a great match but it's a tough one to call. I can't see Ryback losing the Championship after a few weeks so I'll think he'll win. However, I won't be surprised if he loses.

Predicted Winner: Ryback

The Tag Team Championships are on the line as The Prime Time Players challenge The New Day (Sucks). This should be an interesting contest and it's interesting seeing The New Day as heels. I can see The Prime Time Players winning but I don't think they will.

Paige will challenge Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship. Nikki has been Champion for over 6 months so I think it's time for a change. I think that Paige will win here.

Predicted Winner: Paige

John Cena will take on NXT Champion Kevin Owens. It was great to see Owens beat Cena clean at Elimination Chamber. However, a rematch was set up almost straight away and I can't see Owens beating Cena twice in a row. I think that Cena will win here.

Roman Reigns, Corporate Kane, Neville, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton and Sheamus will take part in the 2015 Money in the Bank match. It should be an entertaining contest but I can only see Reigns winning.

The main event will be a ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as Dean Ambrose challenge Seth Rollins.  I'm really looking forward to this match and I can see both guys winning. In the end, I think that Rollins will win.
