Elimination Chamber 2021 will be taking place in the Thunderdome this evening. There are only 5 matches on the card so let's take a look.

The winner of this match will get to face Roman Reigns later in the night. I'm might be in the minority but I'm going for Bryan to win.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Keith Lee might win this.

This should be a good match and I'm going for Jax and Baszler to retain.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 Review

WWE Elimination Chamber, the last PPV before Wrestlemania, took place on Sunday 8th March at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. How will Wrestlemania look after this show? Let's take a look.

The match on the Kick Off Show was The Viking Raiders taking on Zack Ryder and Kurt Hawkins. After a few minutes, The Viking Raiders hit The Viking Experience on Ryder to get the win. The match wasn't memorable.
Winners: The Viking Raiders

The first match of the event was Daniel Bryan taking on Drew Gulak. The match starts as a technical match before Gulak gets the advantage by focusing on the neck, hitting moves such as a dragon suplex. Bryan mounts a brief comeback but Gulak hits an inverted superplex then goes for the Gu-Lock. Bryan gets out of it and applies the Yes Lock to get the win by submission. This was a very good match with a lot of technical ability being displayed by both men.
Winner: Daniel Bryan (0 for 1)

The next match is for the United States Championship as Humberto Carrillo challenges Andrade. The match starts with Andrade hitting a back elbow and he goes on to press his advantage. Andrade tries to expose some concrete so that he can DDT Carrillo onto it but he gets stopped. Carrillo hits a jawbreaker to start his comeback. After a lot of pinning combinations, Andrade manages to pin Carrillo with a handful of tights to get the pin. I quite enjoyed this match, which was very physical to addition to the high flying style that we expected.
Winner: Andrade (1 for 2)

We now get our first Elimination Chamber match as The New Day, The Usos, Heavy Machinery, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler, and The Lucha House Party challenge John Morrison and Hollywood Miz for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship. The New Day and The Usos start the match; then after 5 minutes, The Lucha House Party join them. They are followed by The Miz and Morrison then Heavy Machinery. They hit Gran Metalik with The Compactor to eliminate The Lucha House Party then Roode and Ziggler enter the match. Roode eliminates Heavy Machinery after hitting Tucker with a Glorious DDT but they get eliminated after a Uso Splash by The Usos. Kingston misses a splash off one of the cages and Miz and Morrison take advantage to pin him and eliminate The New Day. In the end, Morrison and Miz, with some help of the ropes, pin Jimmy Uso to get the win. I thought this was a fun match to watch.
Winners: The Miz and Jim Morrison (2 for 3)

The next match is a No Disqualification match between AJ Styles and Aliester Black.  Styles' buddies, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, distract Black a few times to help Styles get the advantage and focus on the leg. Styles puts Black in the calf crusher but he uses a kendo stick to get out of it. After some back and forth, Black looks like he's about to hit the Black Mask when Gallows and Anderson gang up on him. When Styles is about to finish it, The Undertaker suddenly appears, hits Styles with a chokeslam then disappears. Black manages to recover and hits the Black Mask to get the win. This was a good match, although I feel that they could used the no disqualification stipulation a bit more.
Winner: Aliester Black (3 for 4)

We now get the RAW Tag Team Championship match as Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy challenge The Street Profits.  Angelo Dawkins doesn't see Murphy tagging Rollins, and this gives him the chance to chop block Dawkins and give his team the advantage. Dawkins sends Murphy over the top rope, and this gives him the chance to tag in Montez Ford. When AOP interfere in the match, The Viking Raiders come out and fight with them to the back. After both teams have a chance to win it, Kevin Owens appears out of the crowd and throws popcorn in Rollins' face. This gives Dawkins the chance to shoulder charge Rollins into the barrier and then take out Murphy with a frog splash by Ford to get the win. Afterwards, Owens hits Rollins with a Stunner. It was a decent match but I wasn't a fan of the ending as I feel that The Street Profits needed to win clean to establish themselves as Champions.
Winners: The Street Profits (4 for 5)

The penultimate match is for the Intercontinental Championship as Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura challenge Braun Strowman in a handicap match. Strowman is dominant for most of the match but he constantly tries to get at Zayn. Nakamura takes advantage with a dropkick to the knee. Strowman makes a comeback and goes after Zayn. That turned out to be a bad idea as Nakamura and Cesaro hit a double suplex with a Helluva Kick by Zayn. Zayn then pins Strowman to become the new Intercontinental Champion. This turned out to be quite a good match and I liked the story of Strowman being too focused on Zayn and it leading to his downfall. I'm happy that Zayn is the Intercontinental Champion. It's a shame that Strowman will probably fuck him up at Wrestlemania.
Winner: Sami Zayn (4 for 6)

The main event is a Elimination Chamber match to determine the No 1 contender for the RAW Women's Championship with Asuka, Liv Morgan, Natalya. Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan and Shayna Baszler taking part. Riott and Natalya start the match followed by Logan and then Baszler. Baszler immediately gets Logan and Riott to sumbit to the Kirifuda Clutch within 60 seconds. A couple of minutes later, she gets Natalya to submit to the Kirifuda Clutch, leaving her by herself. A few minutes later, Liv Morgan enters the match but she doesn't last long as Baszler fucks her up and gets her to pass out due to another Kirifuda Clutch. Eventually, Asuka enters the match and she puts up a fight, putting Baszler in the Asuka Lock. However, it was not enough as she gets Asuka to pass out to the Kirifuda Clutch and get the win.

I wasn't a fan of the match. I feel that they made Baszler too dominant. I'm a big fan of her but I'm worried that if it really hurt her if WWE decide to book Lynch to win at Wrestlemania. Also, there was a lot of the match where Baszler was the only one in the ring and you can't have in the main event.
Winner: Shayna Baszler (5 for 7)

With the exception of the main event, I thought that Elimination Chamber was pretty good.  The Wrestlemania card did look pretty good. However, with the Coronavirus pandemic affecting it, I now worry about how it will go.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 Preview

The final PPV before Wrestlemania, Elimination Chamber, will be taking place this evening. at the Wells Fargo Center in Pittsburgh. How will the landscape change on the Road to Wrestlemania? Let's take a look at the card.

The Street Profits have only been Champions for a couple of weeks so I'll be surprised if they lose here.

Handicap Match for the Intercontinental Championship
I don't get why they've done this match. If Strowman wins, it will bury 3 talented wrestlers. If Zayn, Cesaro and Nakamura win, it will devalue the Championship. I'm going for the least worst option, which is Strowman to retain.

Hollywood Miz and John Morrison vs The New Day vs The Usos vs The Lucha House Party vs Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode vs Heavy Machinery

WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 Review

WWE Elimination Chamber took place on Sunday 17th February at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. There are only 7 matches on the card but we will see who will be the first ever WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. So let's take a look.

The match on the Kick Off Show was Akira Tozowa challenging Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship. Murphy shrugs off Flair chops from Tozowa before catching him do a suicide dive and hitting with a suplex to the outside. Tozowa manages to make a comeback with multiple kicks. Both guys have a chance to win it before Tozowa hits a Senton from the rope to the back for 2. Tozowa puts Murphy in the Iron Octopus submission. However, Murphy powers out of it and hits Murphy's Law to get the win. This was a really good match and a great way to start the event.
Winner: Buddy Murphy (1 for 1)


The first match of the show is a Elimination Chamber Match to crown the first ever WWE Women's Tag Team Champions consisting of the teams of Nia Jax and Tamina, The IIconics, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan, Sasha Banks and Bayley, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville and Carmella and Naomi. Sasha and Bayley and Mandy and Sonya start the match. Sarah and Liv then enter the match followed by The IIonics and then Carmella and Naomi. Unfortunately, Billie and Peyton team up to do a beautiful pinning combination on Naomi to eliminate them. Nia and Tamina then enter and proceed to destroy everyone. The IIconics get eliminated when they hit with stereo Samoan Drops by Nia and Tamina. Liv and Sarah then get eliminated when Liv gets hit by a Samoan Drop from the middle rope followed by a Superfly Splash by Tamina. Nia then tries to spear Bayley but misses and goes crashing through one of the pads. This gives everyone else the chance to team up and pin Tamina to eliminate her and Nia. Sasha and Bayley come very close to winning when Sonya gets hit with a back stabber by Sasha followed by a Belly-to-Bayley by Bayley but Mandy just about breaks up the pin. In the end, Sasha gets Sonya to submit using a modified Banks Statement to get the win.

This match was a lot of fun with some really cool spots. The IIonics, as always, were great to watch and I thought all the women performed really well. Sasha and Bayley were probably the best choice to win this and I hope they have a long and significant reign.
Winners: Sasha Banks and Bayley (2 for 2)

The next match is for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships as Hollywood Miz and "Best in the World" Shane McMahon face the challenge of The Usos. Miz and Shane work well together before The Usos bounce Miz's neck off the rope to get the advantage. Miz manages to get the hot tag to Shane and he does a Coast-to-Coast to Jimmy. The match goes into a back and forth affair and The Miz goes to hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Jimmy. However, Jimmy manages to reverse Miz's cover into a crucifix pin to get the win and to the shock of The Miz. Even though I'm not a big fan of the whole Miz/Shane tag team, this was quite a good match. They have a rematch at Fastlane so hopefully they'll lose that and lead to Miz betraying Shane.
Winners: The Usos (2 for 3)

We now get a handicap match for the Intercontinental Championship as Finn Balor challenges Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley. Rush distracts Balor long enough for Lashley to slam him into the barrier. Lashley and Rush are completely dominant. However, Rush's arrogance leads to him missing a frogsplash, giving Balor a chance to make a comeback and isolate Rush. Balor goes on to hit the Coup de Grace to pin Rush and become the new Intercontinental Champion. Afterwards, Lashley chokeslams Rush. The match was pretty good. However, I hope that it doesn't lead to the break up of Rush and Lashley as I think they work well together.
Winner: Finn Balor (3 for 4)

Next is Ruby Riott challenging Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women's Championship with Charlotte Flair watching at ringside. Ruby starts well but Ronda quickly hits Piper's Pit then gets Ruby to submit to the armbar. Wait, that was it?! Afterwards, Charlotte gets into the ring and "The Man" Becky Lynch, who hasn't grasped what a suspension actually means, arrives and beats the fuck out of Charlotte and Ronda with her crutches. I felt that the match was pointless as it just led to what happened afterwards, which was judged as more important by WWE.
Winner: Ronda Rousey (4 for 5)

We now get a no disqualification match between Baron Corbin and Braun Strowman. Near the beginning, Corbin uses a kendo stick against Strowman and later on, the steel steps. Strowman deals with it and after crashing Corbin through a table, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley come down and beat Strowman with chairs. They go on to dominate Strowman and Shield Bomb him through two tables. Corbin then pins him to get the win. The match was ok and I wasn't a big fan of the ending.
Winner: Baron Corbin (4 for 6)

After we see Hollywood Miz spit the dummy over the loss he suffered earlier, a pointless cameo by Lacey Evans and multiple adverts, we get our main event. "The New" Daniel Bryan facing the challenges of Kofi Kingston, Samoa Joe, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles. Joe and Bryan start the match and Kingston is the next one to enter. This was followed by Styles and Joe was the first to be eliminated thanks to a Phenomenal Forearm by Styles. Hardy then enters but, after hitting a Swanton Bomb to Styles' back, he gets creamed by a running knee by Bryan to get eliminated. Orton is the last one to enter and eliminates Styles after countering a Phenomenal Forearm into a RKO. Kingston then eliminates Orton with a Trouble in Paradise, leaving him and Bryan. Kingston hits big moves such the SOS and Bryan comes close with another running knee. In the end, Kingston misses a splash off one of the pods. Bryan then kills him with a 3rd running knee to get the win.

This was a really good match and I loved the contest between Kingston and Bryan at the end, which had some amazing near falls. There's been some talk about Kingston getting a main event push and, based on them having another match at Fastlane, it looks that way. Hopefully it won't be a temporary measure.
Winner: Daniel Bryan (5 for 7)

Except for a significant lull in the middle, I thought that Elimination Chamber was pretty good. Hopefully, Fastlane will be the same and we get a good road to Wrestlemania.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2018 Review

Elimination Chamber, the last RAW Pay-Per-View before Wrestlemania, took place on the 25th February at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Not only will we get to see the first Women's Elimination Chamber match plus we will determine who face Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. So, let's take a look.

The match on the Kick Off Show was Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows taking on Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Dallas dumps Anderson to the outside to get his team the advantage. Anderson hits a running kick on Axel, giving him the chance to tag in Gallows. In the end, Gallows and Anderson hit Axel with the Magic Killer to get the win.
Winners: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows (1 for 1)

The first match of the show is Bayley, Mandy Rose, Mickie James, Sasha Banks and Sonya Deville challenge Alexa Bliss in the first ever Women's Elimination Chamber Match for the RAW Women's Championship. Bayley and Sonya start in the ring and Rose is the next one to enter followed by Sasha Banks. Rose is the first to be eliminated when Banks gets her to submit to the Banks Statement. Mickie is the next one to enter and she does a senton splash from on top of a pod to eliminate Sonya. However, Mickie is eliminated when Bayley hits her with a Belly-to-Bayley. When Alexa enters, Sasha and Bayley team up before they turn on each other. Bayley hits Sasha with a Belly-to-Bayley but Alexa rolls up Bayley to eliminate her. Sasha comes close to winning with the Banks Statement. However, Alexa bangs Sasha's head off a pod and follows that up with a hangman's DDT to get the win.

I really enjoyed this match and all the competitors did well. Alexa winning was the obvious call and her promo afterwards was brilliant. As for Wrestlemania, it did look like Alexa was going to be destroyed by Asuka. However, Ronda Rousey arriving and events at Fastlane (spoiler alert) have changed that.
Winner: Alexa Bliss (2 for 2)

The next match is Apollo Crews and Titus O'Neill  challenging Cesaro and Sheamus for the RAW Tag Team Championship. Cesaro and Sheamus take out Apollo to get the advantage. Sheamus misses a shoulder charge, going into the ring post. This gives Apollo the chance to tag in O'Neill. O'Neill hits the Clash of the Titus on Sheamus but Cesaro breaks up the pin. In the end, Cesaro and Sheamus pin Apollo to get the win.
This match was quite a fun match to watch.
Winners: Cesaro and Sheamus (3 for 3)

Next is Asuka taking on Nia Jax. If Nia wins, she will have a Championship match at Wrestlemania. Asuka takes the fight to Nia but it doesn't take long. Nia goes on to be completely dominant. Nia goes for a banzai drop but she misses. Nia gets out of an armbar and goes for a powerbomb. However, Asuka manages to get out if it and reverse it into a pin to get the win. Nia doesn't take the loss well and fucks up Asuka, sending her crashing into the timekeeper's area. This was quite a good match although I'm not sure if it was as good as their matches in NXT.
Winner: Asuka (4 for 4)

Our penultimate match is Bray Wyatt taking on Broken "Woken" Matt Hardy. Wyatt teleports(?) into the ring but Hardy isn't there. Matt attacks him outside the ring but Wyatt hits a running block to get the advantage. After a while, Matt hits a tornado DDT to start his comeback. Wyatt goes for the Sister Abigail but Matt gets out of it and hits the Twist of Fate to get the win. This match was weird at times but it was otherwise pretty decent.
Winner: "Woken" Matt Hardy (4 for 5)

After we see the signing of Ronda Rousey,  we get our main event to determine the number 1 contender for the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. It is an Elimination Chamber Match between Elias, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, John Cena, Hollywood Miz, Roman Reigns and Bruan Strowman. Balor, Miz and Rollins start in the ring and they are followed by Cena and then Strowman. Strowman goes on to eliminate Miz, Elias, Cena, Balor and Rollins with powerslams. During this time, all the wrestlers teamed up on Strowman; at one time hitting their finishing moves on him. However, Strowman manages to survive it all. In the end, Reigns hits multiple Superman punches and 2 Spears on Strowman to get the win. This match really bothered me. It was good but it annoyed me that Strowman eliminates 5 people yet Reigns goes on to win. It seems like a heel move to me.
Winner: Roman Reigns (5 for 6)

I thought that Elimination Chamber was a good event. This is the last RAW event before Wrestlemania and it looks good for them

WWE Elimination Chamber 2018 Preview

WWE Elimination Chamber will be taking place this evening at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. History will be made once again as we will get the first ever Women's Elimination Chamber Match. So, who will be the winner of that? Let's take a look at the card.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel

The match on The Kick Off Show could be a decent one. I'm going for Gallows and Anderson to win.

Whilst it would be interesting to see Titus O'Neill and Apollo Crews be Champions, I don't think that's going to happen.

If Nia Jax wins, she will be added to Asuka's Championship match at Wrestlemania. Yeah, that's not happening.

Elimination Chamber Match to Determine the No 1 Contender to the Universal Championship

This will be interesting due to the fact that there will be 7 people involved instead of the usual 6. Whilst I would love to see someone like Rollins or Balor win, it's probably going to be Roman Reigns (yay?)

Due to the work, the Winter Olympics and the Six Nations, I haven't been watching much WWE and haven't published my Royal Rumble review yet. Hopefully, I'll publish over the next couple of days and watch Elimination Chamber next weekend. Until then, I hope you guys enjoy the show.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 Review

The last Smackdown Pay-Per-View before Wrestlemania took place on Sunday 12th February at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. We all know that Randy Orton will face the WWE Champion at Wrestlemania but who will that Champion be? Let's take a look.

The match on the Pre-Show is Curt Hawkins taking on Mojo Rawley. Hawkins gets the advantage early on and tries to win it by count out. Mojo hulks up and starts his comeback with punches and shoulder tackles. In the end, Rawley gets the win with a tilt-a-whirl powerslam. This was quite a decent match to start the show.
Winner: Mojo Rawley (0 for 1)

The first match of the event was Becky Lynch versus Mickie James. Mickie  gets hit with a forearm on the outside before hitting an armbreaker on Becky when they go back into the ring. Mickie then focuses on the left arm before Becky makes her comeback. In the end, Becky goes for the Disarm-Her but Mickie reverses it into a pin. I thought this was a good match between the two.
Winner: Mickie James (0 for 2)

Next is Apollo Crews and Kalisto taking on Dolph Ziggler in a handicap match. Ziggler attacks Kalisto during his entrance, making it a 1-on-1 match between Crews and Ziggler. The match goes back and forth before Kalisto comes back down. They then go to get the win after Kalisto does a roundhouse kick followed by a spin out powerbomb by Crews. Afterwards Ziggler takes out Kalisto then injures Crews' ankle with a chair. The match was quite short but I thought that it was pretty decent.
Winner: Apollo Crews and Kalisto (0 for 3)

We now get the Tag Team Turmoil match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship. The first two teams were Heath Slater and Rhyno and Breezango. Breezango get eliminated when Fandango grts hit with a Gore by Rhyno. The Vaudevillians were next and they got eliminated thanks to a DDT by Slater. The Usos come in next and they eliminate Slater and Rhyno thanks to Jimmy Uso hitting a super kick on Slater. Next to come down were the Champions American Alpha and they eliminate The Usos after Chad Gable pins Jey Uso. The Usos don't take that well and they beat the fuck out of American Alpha The last team team to come down were The Ascension and, even though they hit the Fall of Man on on Jason Jordan, they end up losing after Viktor gets hit with Grand Amplitude and American Alpha get the win. This was an enjoyable match but I wonder if American Alpha comimg out earlier would have made it better.
Winners: American Alpha (1 for 4)

We now get our 2nd  Women's match of the night as Nikki Bella takes on Natalya. After some back and forth, Natalya sends Nikki into the ring post. Natalya then goes on to beat down Nikki while shouting at the crowd. Nikki starts her comeback and comes close after hitting a spinebuster. In the end, they brawl to the outside and they both ended up getting counted out. Except for the ending, I thought this was a good match. I thought they would continue this feud until Wrestlemania. However, it ended a couple of weeks later and it looks like Nikki will be joining John Cena and feuding with Hollywood Miz and Maryse instead.
Winner: Double Countout (1 for 5)

Next is Randy Orton versus Luke Harper. Orton back suplexes Harper onto the announce table then proceeds to beat down on him. Harper does manage a mount a comeback and does a back suplex, sending Orton onto the same announce table. However, Orton goes on to win after countering a discus clothesline to hit a RKO. This was a match of two halves for me. For a long portion of it, it wasn't very interesting. However, it seemed to get a lot better with some really good spots.
Winner: Randy Orton (2 for 6)

The penultimate match is Naomi challenging Alexa Bliss for the Samckdown Women's Champion. Alexa initially doesn't take Naomi seriously, which almost cost her the match. Despite Alexa beating Naomi for a while, Naomi counters the Twisted Bliss and hits a split legged moonsault to get the win and become Champion...? Wait, what? Wow, I honestly didn't see that coming. Naomi has improved a lot over the last couple of years but I didn't see her becoming Champion for a long while yet. I would say that it would be interesting to see where it goes. However, a few days later, Naomi had to vacate the Championship due to injury and Alexa regained it after beating Becky Lynch.
Winner: Naomi (2 for 7)

The main event is the Elimination Chamber for the WWE Championship. The Champion John Cena will be taking on Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, Hollywood Miz, Baron Corbin and Bray Wyatt. Cena and Styles start the match and then Ambrose, Wyatt, Corbin and The Miz enter the cage in that order. Corbin is the first to be eliminated when Ambrose rolls him up. Corbin doesn't take that well and beats up Ambrose. Miz seizes the opportunity and pins Ambrose to eliminate him. Cena then eliminates Miz with an AA. After Cena and Styles trade blows, Cena goes to hit the AA on Wyatt. However, Wyatt goes out of it and hits Sister Abigail to eliminate Cena; then goes on to hit another Sister Abigail on Styles to win the match and become WWE Champion.

Holy shit!! I know that I predicted Wyatt to win but I didn't actually think that he would win. Up until quite recently, I was getting sick of Wyatt. He seemed to be the doing the same shit for years and always lose the big matches. Orton joining the Wyatts was a surprise and it seemed that it was going somewhere. They became the Tag Team Champions briefly and Orton went on to win the Rumble and Wyatt is WWE Champion. It initially looked like it was going to be Wyatt vs Orton at Wrestlemania. Instead, Orton declines and after a battle royal and a match with Luke Harper, AJ Styles became number one contender. Later that night, Orton declares that joining the Wyatts was this master plan(?) and burns down the Wyatt Compound, exhuming Sister Abigailin the process. Can someone remind me why I would be cheering Orton for that, because what he did was evil as fuck? Anyway, well done to Bray Wyatt.
Winner: Bray Wyatt (3 for 8)

I quite enjoyed Elimination Chamber as a lot of matches were fun to watch. It looks like we will be getting some interesting matches from Smackdown for Wrestlemania. Let's see hoe RAW does at Fastlane.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 Preview

WWE Elimination Chamber (or No Escape if you live in Germany) will be taking place this evening at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. With this being Smackdown last PPV before Wrestlemania, how will that card develop after this event. Let's look at the card. 

The match on the Pre Show will be Mojo Rawley taking on Curt Hawkins. I'm not that bothered about this to be honest but I feel that Hawkins will win here.

Predicted Winner: Curt Hawkins

Nikki Bella will take on Natalya in what could be an interesting. I feel that Nikki will win here.

Predicted Winner: Nikki Bella

Luke Harper will take on the Royal Rumble Winner Randy Orton. This is a slightly tough one to call but I'm going for Orton to win here.

Becky Lynch will face Mickie James in a match that I'm quite looking forward to. I'm going for Mickie to win here.

Predicted Winner: Mickie James

Naomi will challenge Alexa Bliss for the Smackdown Women's Championship. I will be very surprised if Naomi wins this so Alexa to be victorious here.

Dolph Ziggler is taking on Apollo Crews and Kalisto  in a 2-on-1 handicap match. First of all, Ziggler is the heel in this so it's weird that he's at a disadvantage. Despite that, I feel that he will find some way to win.

Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler

This is a match that I'm really looking forward to as American Alpha put the Smackdown Tag Team Championship on the line in a Tag Team Turmoil match. Their challengers are Heath Slater and Rhyno, The Usos, The Vaudevillains, The Ascension and Breezango. I feel that American Alpha will retain here.

Predicted Winners: American Alpha

In the main event, John Cena  will take on Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Hollywood Miz, Baron Corbin and AJ Styles. At first I thought that Cena will win this but I've heard that Wyatt is going to win this so I'm going with him.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Review

It’s time for the last PPV before Wrestlemania. Last year, Elimination Chamber helped to solidify the great television that we were seeing in the WWE. Will this year’s event continue in that vein?

The first match was an Elimination Chamber for the WWE Championship? Wait, what? When Justin Roberts announced that, I was shocked. I thought that this match would end the PPV. Anyway, let’s put my shock to the side and watch this match. CM Punk was defending the title against Chris Jericho, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and Kofi Kingston. We all know that Jericho had a huge advantage as he was going in at number 6, and Punk and Kofi started the match. There was a couple of nice bits with Kofi leaping over the ropes and Punk slingshoting Kofi into Jericho’s pod. After 5 minutes, Dolph Ziggler entered the Chamber and went after Punk and, being the show off that he is, starting doing knee raises while hanging off the cage followed by a leg drop. There was also a cool when Kofi and Punk tried to do jumping clothelines on Ziggler. Ziggler ducked and they collided in mid air. R–Truth then enters the fray and starts attacking Ziggler. However, a couple of minutes later, Punk eliminates Truth with a Macho Man elbow drop. After Kofi hits a Tornado DDT on Ziggler on the outside of the ring, The Miz enters the Chamber and attacks Punk before concentrating on Kofi. After Kofi and Ziggler get temporarily incapacitated, we get a few minutes of Punk and Miz fighting it out.

Just before the 10 count for Jericho to come in, Punk hits Miz with the Anaconda Vice but lets go of it when Jericho enters the Chamber. Jericho hits Punk with a Lionsault for a near fall. Ziggler comes back and tries to pin Jericho with a roll up but Jericho kicked out and hit Ziggler with a Codebreaker to eliminate Ziggler. Punk and Jericho continue their fight and Punk starts to get some momentum before Jericho pokes Punk in the eye then puts himself back into a pod to get some breathing room. Unfortunately, Punk gets the pod open and they fight it out in there before Jericho starts to use the pod door against Punk. Jericho hits Kofi with a DDT then Kofi and Miz have a brief battle between each other. Punk gets back into it and there was a nice spot when Kofi climbed onto the top of a pod and hit a crossbody on Punk and Miz. A couple of minutes later, Jericho puts Kofi in the Walls of Jericho and the way that he put Kofi in the move with his knee on the back of Kofi’s head, effectively immobilising him made sure that Kofi had no choice but to tap out.

Jericho then decides to humiliate Kofi further by throwing him out of the Chamber himself. However, after he done that and the Chamber door was being closed, Punk hit Jericho with a kick to the back of the head, sending him out of the Chamber, colliding with the cameraman and hitting the aisle barrier. After being checked over, referee Scott Armstrong deems that Jericho is unable to continue. On a side note, you can tell that the referees don’t give a fuck about the cameraman as they didn’t take a look at him for a good few minutes. With Jericho unable to continue, the match is now between Punk and The Miz. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale but only gets a 2 count. Despite the Miz’s best efforts, Punk managed to get the victory after hitting the GTS and retain the WWE Championship. I really enjoyed this match and it was a great way to start the PPV. It also gives Jericho a reason to challenge Punk at Wrestlemania as he wasn’t technically eliminated. It’s just that I’m not a big fan of World Championship matches starting a PPV (Royal Rumble excepted) and I’ll get onto that later on in my review. Anyway, well done to Punk on retaining the WWE Championship.

After a backstage segment with Santino and a video of John Cena about his match with The Rock at Wrestlemania, we get the Divas Championship with Beth Phoenix defending against Tamina Snuka. Beth decides to be a nice person and offer Tamina the chance to walk away. Tamina graciously declines by attacking Beth. Tamina tries to go for the Superfly Splash early but Beth pushes her out of the ring and starts to gain some momentum. After a while, Tamina fights back with a Samoan Drop and later on hits the Superfly Splash, in which Beth just kicks out. A couple of minutes later, Beth hits the Glam Slam to get the victory. This is one of the best matches that I seen from the Divas in quite some time and with Beth, Tamina, Natalya and Kharma, they have the potential to create a strong Divas Division.

Winner: Beth Phoenix                                   Predictions: 1 for2

Next we get David Otunga along with John Laurinaitis (did you know that he’s the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and the interim RAW GM?) who starts to go on about Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long being possibly under review when he is interrupted by the arrival of Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio suggests that Laurinaitis not only be the permanent GM of RAW but also of Smackdown as well. If it happens, does that mean that I have to write did you know that he’s the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, the RAW GM and the Smackdown GM? Del Rio’s suggestion gets some support from not only Mark Henry but a returning Christian. I really like the idea of Laurinaitis being the General Manager of both shows as I’ve never seen anyone do that before. This could be a great storyline with Laurinaitis now effectively having his own stable full of former World Champions. The best bit for me was when Otunga gets a picture of them and this is it:

A great moment and Otunga’s smile for me just makes it so much better.

After an interview of The Big Show by Josh “Bad Timing” Mathews, we get the Smackdown Elimination Chamber?! Wait, so we’re having the Ambulance Match as the main event?! Seriously, why the fuck have the WWE done that? You know what, I’ll bitch about that later and I’ll focus on this match. Daniel Bryan is defending his World Heavyweight Championship against The Great Khali, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, The Big Show and Santino Marella(?!) Unfortunately, my dream of someone attacking Santino during his entrance and taking his spot was unfulfilled (bollocks!) The Big Show and Wade Barrett start off the match and they were pretty decent then Cody Rhodes (reluctantly) enters the match.

Rhodes starts to go into with Show before Show sends him over the top rope onto the steel. Barrett and Rhodes briefly team up against Show before they go up against each other. Santino then enters the match and goes after Barrett before encountering The Big Show. Show sends Santino flying across the ring before we get a bit of back and forth between all the wrestlers. The Great Khali enters the match and hits the Punjabi Plunge on Rhodes then Barrett. Show then spears Khali and eliminates him. Show then decides that Bryan, who is the only one left in a pod, should enter the match a bit earlier by breaking the chains at the top of the pod and destroying Bryan inside. Bryan manages to get out of the pod with Show in hot pursuit. Show sends Bryan back into the pod by throwing him head first through the bulletproof (but not wrestler proof) glass. Eventually, Rhodes hits a DDT on Show followed by a elbow drop by Barrett to eliminate Show. Rhodes starts to celebrate but that comes back to haunt him as Santino eliminates him with a roll up. Rhodes doesn’t take that too well and hits Santino with a Cross Rhodes before leaving. After a while, we get a mini match between Bryan and Barrett with Barrett powerbombing Bryan into the chains then using the pod door to choke Bryan before slamming the door onto Bryan’s head. A few minutes later, Bryan hits a splash on Barrett and Santino pins him, eliminating him. This now leaves Bryan and Santino (?!) Bryan dominates to begin with before Santino hits the Cobra and gets a very, very near fall. Bryan puts on the LaBell Lock and, despite Santino almost powering out of it, he had no choice but to tap out, meaning that Bryan is still the Champion. Afterwards, Sheamus congratulates Bryan by hitting him with the Celtic Cross, solidifying his challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania.

The match was not as good as the RAW match but it was still entertaining. I have to give credit where it’s due and I thought that Santino was really good in this match. I feel that with a bit more skill and an evolution of his character, he could be at the upper mid card level. My one criticism was that Bryan entered the Chamber last. I feel that Bryan should have entered the Chamber earlier was it would have made him look stronger.

Winner: Daniel Bryan                                     Predictions: 2 for 3

Next we go backstage with Natalya continuing the bullshit farting gimmick with Hornswoggle followed by Justin Gabriel arguing with Jack Swagger, which was defused by Teddy Long; who made an impromptu match between the two for the United States Championship.

Hey, look at that! The match between Jack Swagger and Justin Gabriel is on now. This match wasn’t that long and it was pretty decent with Swagger eventually getting the win after applying the ankle lock.

Winner: Jack Swagger                                  Predictions: N/A

Now we come to the main event with John Cena taking on Kane in an Ambulance Match. The match quickly goes to the outside, up the aisle to near the Ambulance and Cena uses a back board against Kane. The match goes back to the outside of the ring when Kane gets thrown into the steel steps and then thrown into the ring. Kane starts to dominate the match for a while before Cena fights back with a 5-knuckle shuffle. Kane smothers Cena, knocking him out. Kane then drags Cena out of the ring and brings out a wheelchair to help get him to the ambulance. Cena comes to when he is at the aisle and tries to get out of the wheelchair and starts beating up Kane. Cena slams Kane against the ambulance, grabs the wheelchair and starts using that as a weapon. Cena then puts Kane into the wheelchair and sends him into the technical area located to the side of the titantron. They both start using various pieces of equipment against each other.

The match goes through the crowd ending up back to the outside of the ring. Cena hits Kane twice with a microphone, then hits him with a monitor from the Spanish Announcers table then the steel steps twice to the head of Kane. Cena sets up the steps next to the Spanish Announcers Table, lifts Kane up and carries him up the steps in order to AA Kane through the table. Kane manages to get out of it and chokeslams Cena through the table. Kane goes to the ambulance and grabs a stretcher planning to use it to carry Cena to the ambulance. Kane puts Cena into the ambulance and almost shuts the door when Cena starts to rally against Kane then taunts Kane to follow him to the top of the ambulance. Kane attempts to chokeslam Cena off the ambulance but Cena countered it and AA-ed Kane off the top of the ambulance to the floor (well, some padding I assume. We don’t see Kane land). Cena then puts Kane into the ambulance, closes the door and wins the match. I enjoyed the match and it made both Kane and Cena look strong going into Wrestlemania.

Winner: John Cena                                       Predictions: 3 for 4

This was a decent event. All the matches were pretty good and I really enjoyed the RAW Elimination Chamber. I was impressed with Santino’s performance and he shows how good he actually is. I was also impressed with the Divas match and I hope that this could be the beginning of building a strong Divas division.

However, this event emphasised to me how important the match order is. I always believed that the main event should be a World Title match. There will be times when other matches will be the main event (Cena vs The Rock at Wrestlemania is a prime example), but those are special matches that deserve to be the main event.

I really don’t get why Cena vs Kane was the main event. I kinda get why as the WWE wanted the last image of the PPV to be a victorious John Cena standing near the Wrestlemania logo. However, the match, while good, was not a main event. It would be nice if the last image that we had would have been Sheamus crushing Bryan and having him standing by the Wrestlemania logo. It would have put the focus back on the Royal Rumble being an important event on the Road to Wrestlemania. Because of WWE’s decision to make the Cena Kane match the main event, they made what could have been a good PPV into an okay PPV.

Elimination Chamber Contenders

The Elimination Chamber takes place at 1am on Monday morning (UK time) live from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Let’s take a look at the contenders.

Smackdown – World Heavyweight Championship

This has erm...a very interesting (?) lineup.

Daniel Bryan (Current Champion)

Record: First time

Daniel Bryan has been the best thing on Smackdown with his very scuttle heel turn. Bryan at the minute is a person who uses his head as well as his technicial skills to get out of very tricky situations. It will be hard for him as he is effectively stuck in a cage with 5 other wrestlers, including 2 7-foot giants. However, I think that he will find some way to prevail.

Chances of winning: Very high

The Big Show

Record: 0-3                            Eliminations: 3

The Big Show, while unsuccessful in his 3 matches, has the most experience in this match. He can use that to his advantage. However, Bryan has gone into his head and Show needs to focus on winning the match and not just on Bryan if he wants to be successful.

Chances of winning: Possible

Wade Barrett

Record: 0-1                            Eliminations: 0

Wade Barrett took part in the RAW Elimination Chamber last year so has some experience. However, while I think that he will be a World Champion in the near future, I can’t see him winning it this time.

Chances of winning: Potential dark horse

Cody Rhodes

Record: First time

Cody Rhodes aims to be the first person since The Ultimate Warrior in 1990 to be the Intercontinental Champion and World Champion. Like Barrett, I think that he is a potential dark horse and a possible World Champion. However, maybe not this time.

Chances of winning: Potential dark horse

The Great Khali

Record: 0-1                            Eliminations: 0

The Great Khali is a former World Champion like The Big Show. However, he is not very mobile and because of that, he is very limited. Khali was my pick to be the first eliminated until I saw what happened last Friday.

Chances of winning: No chance in Hell

Santino Marella (?!)

Record: First time (gee, wonder why?)

I know that I have been very critical of Santino being anywhere near this match and it’s nothing against him. I know that he’s a popular character due to his antics, but do you really see him as a main event player?! I pray to God that either someone takes a leaf out of Edge’s manual: “How to be the Ultimate Opportunist” and takes Santino’s place; or he is the first one to be eliminated. If Santino lasts more than 10 minutes, I will be surprised and very pissed off.

Chances of winning: What the fuck do you think?! No chance in Hell!

RAW-WWE Championship

Thankfully, the RAW Elimination Chamber looks like a more exciting contest, with the most experienced wrestlers.

CM Punk (Current Champion)

Record: 0-3                            Eliminations: 3

CM Punk knows what he is up against having been in 3 previous matches. It will be tough for him but I think that he could prevail.

Chances of winning: High

Chris Jericho

Record: 1-5                            Eliminations: 8

Jericho has been in, not only the most Elimination Chambers, but also has the most eliminations with 8. While there are other wrestlers who have taken part in this kind of match, Jericho is the only one that has actually won an Elimination Chamber (with help from Shawn Michaels). I think that it will be either Punk or Jericho who will be victorious but I’m torn over which one.

Chances of winning: High

The Awesome One AKA The Miz

Record: First time

It’s been tough for The Miz recently, being (weirdly) blamed for the lower than expected buy-rate for Survivor Series and also being winless since the turn of the year. As I’m a big fan of The Miz, I hope that he will get some wins soon. Unfortunately, barring a major upset, that won’t start at this match.

Chances of winning: Slim

Dolph Ziggler

Record: First time

I love Dolph as he is a great wrestler and an enjoyable entertainer. Along with Barrett and Cody, Dolph will be World Champion one day (I don’t count him being rewarded the World Heavyweight Championship last year for11 minutes). However, I can’t see him winning it this time

Chances of winning: Slim

Kofi Kingston

Record: 0-1                            Eliminations: 1

Kofi is a possible dark horse in this match. I think that his time will come and he could do well in this match. However, I don’t think that he will be successful.

R-Truth

Record: 0-2                            Eliminations: 0

I have liked the insane (in a good way) R-Truth and it would be interesting to see where WWE go with that kind of person as the WWE Champion. However, I don’t think that will happen. How about the US Championship instead?

This Sunday is only the third ever Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View. However, there have been 13 Elimination Chamber matches ever since it made his debut almost 10 years ago at Surivior Series. Let’s look at the history.
